PUBLIC NOTICE: Mosquito Spraying to Reduce Risk of West Nile Virus in Eastport (Anne Arundel County) Scheduled for Sept. 24 and Oct. 1

ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 19, 2012) – The Maryland Department of Agriculture will expand mosquito control services in the Eastport area of Anne Arundel County due to West Nile virus activity found in the area. Spraying will be done by truck over two different days (Sept. 24 and Oct. 1).

Areas to be sprayed include the following:

Knightsbridge, Truxton Heights, Primrose Acres, and Eastport Terrace will be sprayed on Monday, Sept. 24 and again on Monday, Oct. 1, weather permitting. See a map of the spray area: www.mda.maryland.gov/pdf/eastport.pdf.
Spraying will begin after 7:30 p.m., weather permitting, and is expected to last until the early morning hours. People should avoid outdoor activities on spray nights.
