Ag Secretary to Present Buy Local Challenge with Friends Award Tomorrow

NORTH BEACH, MD (September 5, 2012) – Maryland Secretary Buddy Hance will join Christine Bergmark, Ph.D., executive director of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission to present the “Take the Buy Local Challenge with Friends” contest awards tomorrow.

The presentation will be Thursday, September 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Beach Senior Center 9010 Chesapeake Avenue, North Beach, MD 20714.

The “Sassy Seniors” of North Beach will receive a prize basket valued at $200 and a donation of fresh, local farm food, valued at $200, will be made to local families in need via the Maryland Food Bank and partners statewide.
