Chinese Delegation Visits Meat Processing Sites in Maryland

Global Food Safety Forum (GFSF) co-hosted with the Chinese Embassy and Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) a high delegation visit of prominent Chinese government leaders on Friday, April 27. The delegation visited farm and processing sites in Maryland to better understand  exemplary food safety and good agriculture practices underway in the United States today.

MDA’s International Marketing Division organized the delegation’s tour of Old Line Custom Meat Company in Baltimore and Roseda Black Angus Farm in Monkton.

“We are always pleased to showcase Maryland agriculture and share our knowledge of farming and agri-businesses,” said Maryland Agriculture Secretary Buddy Hance, “We look forward to developing a positive relationship and expanding trade between our two countries.”

“We are very grateful to the State of Maryland for organizing this event,” said Alex Lin, director of GFSF. “We are equally pleased to have this opportunity to work with the Chinese government to share with its representatives the best of American agriculture, right here in our backyard.”
