Maryland Young Farmers Advisory Board to Meet April 18

ANNAPOLIS, MD (April 13, 2012) – The Maryland Young Farmers Advisory Board will meet on Wednesday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at the Maryland Department of Agriculture, 50 Harry Truman Parkway, Annapolis.

Agenda item include presentations by Stacy Kubofcik, a regional representative at the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development; Joanna Kille, Director of Government Relations for MDA; Agriculture Deputy Secretary Mary Ellen Setting; and Steve McHenry, executive director of  the Maryland Agricultural and Resource-Based Industry Development Corporation (MARBIDCO).

The Young Farmers Advisory Board promotes agriculture as a positive contributor to Maryland’s economy, environment, and scenic landscape; and makes recommendations related to economic development and policy issues that will assist young and beginning farmers, and other related businesses in creating and continuing profitable agriculture throughout the state.
