Mosquito Spraying to Reduce Risk of West Nile Virus in Pasadena (Anne Arundel County) Scheduled for October 5

ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 30, 2011) – The Maryland Department of Agriculture will conduct mosquito control services in the Pasadena area of Anne Arundel County due to West Nile virus activity found in the area. Spraying will be done by truck on Wednesday, October 5, weather permitting. In the event of poor weather conditions, the alternative spray date is Thursday, Oct. 6.

The general area to be sprayed is south of MD 100 and north of Lower Magothy Beach Road; west of Magothy Beach Road and east of Ritchie Highway.  See map of the spray area.

Spraying will begin after 8:00 p.m. and is expected to last until the early morning hours. People should avoid outdoors activities on spray nights.
