PUBLIC NOTICE: MDA TO INCREASE MOSQUITO CONTROL ACTIVITIES IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY

ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 1, 2011) – The Maryland Department of Agriculture will expand mosquito control services in Anne Arundel County due to evidence of evidence of West Nile virus in the area.

The communities to be sprayed are those in the vicinity of the Mountain Road (Rt. 177) and Waterford Road (Rt. 648) intersection. The spray block will extend west to Sun Valley, east to Green Haven, north to Willow Run and south to Farmington Village at Schramms Crossing.

Spraying will occur on Wednesday, September 7 and 14 (weather permitting). Spraying will begin at or after 8:00 pm and may continue till 2:00 am. People should avoid outdoors activities on spray nights.
