MEDIA ADVISORY: A Cheesy Celebration at MDA to Celebrate National Dairy Month

ANNAPOLIS, MD (June 23, 2011) – On Monday, June 27, Secretary of Agriculture Buddy Hance will officially recognize National Dairy Month by hosting a Cheese Carving Contest (and Extravaganza) for employees at the Maryland Department of Agriculture in Annapolis.

The festivities will include a cheese carving contest, free cheese, free ice cream samples from Kilby Cream, a Cecil County creamery located on one of Maryland’s 528 dairy farms, and a chance to participate in a Dairy Trivia Contest. The carving contest will be judged by Frederick County Dairy Princess Danielle Anderson and Carroll County Dairy Princess Amber Lippy.
