GOVERNOR O’MALLEY TO INDUCT FARM FAMILIES INTO AGRICULTURE HALL OF FAME

First Smart, Green and Growing Awards for Agriculture also will be presented

ANNAPOLIS, MD (February 2, 2010) – Governor Martin O’Malley will induct two farming families into the Governor’s Agriculture Hall of Fame during the Annual Maryland Agriculture Dinner on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Michael’s Eighth Avenue.
The Governor’s Agriculture Hall of Fame is the state’s most prestigious agriculture award recognizing their high standards of achievement and commitment to the industry and their communities.
More than 800 people are expected for the Maryland Agriculture Council’s annual dinner, which brings together the State’s agricultural leaders and lawmakers.  The Governor also will present the first-ever Smart, Green and Growing Agriculture Awards. In addition, the Agriculture Council will present its annual educational grants. ________________________________________________________________________
What:    Governor O’Malley to Attend Annual Maryland Agriculture Dinner and Induct Families into Agriculture Hall of Fame
When:    Thursday, February 4, 2010 Photo and interview opportunities with the families only will begin at about 5:30 p.m. as inductee arrive.  Reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner and awards presentation to follow.
