State Soil Conservation Committee Meeting Notice
ANNAPOLIS, MD – The State Soil Conservation Committee will meet Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. Limited seating is available for those who want to attend in person. The meeting is open to the public and will focus on soil conservation and water quality programs. Established in 1938, the State Soil Conservation Committee coordinates the activities of Maryland’s conservation districts, while advising the Secretary of Agriculture on matters relating to soil and water conservation.

Dairy Industry Oversight and Advisory Council Meeting Notice
The next meeting of the Dairy Industry Oversight and Advisory Council is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 9:00 am. This will an in-person meeting; however, attendees have the option to attend the meeting virtually by joining via Google Meet or by phone.
The meeting will take place at the Frederick County Heath Department**, located at:
**We will meet in the “Auditorium” which is located on the 1st floor just inside entrance “B” by the red sidewalk flag. All entrances allow for relatively easy access. Please enter the Auditorium door that is just inside the outside doors at entrance “B” rather than the interior hallway door. Thank you.

Maryland Horse Industry Board Meeting Notice
A meeting of the Maryland Horse Industry Board (MHIB) will be held at 10 A.M., Thursday, September 12, 2024, at “The Ruppert’s Roost Meeting Center,” Therapeutic and Recreational Riding Center (TRRC), 3750 Shady Lane, Glenwood, MD 21738. www.trrcmd.org. TRRC is has been owned/operated by Dr. Helen Tuel, and her husband, John Tuel, for over 40 years and is one of the oldest therapeutic riding centers in Maryland. It is also the site of the Plot Twist Farm lesson and boarding facility operated by MHIB board member, Jennifer Sulin. www.plottwisthorsefarm.com. The meeting will include current information and discussion concerning Horse Board initiatives, updates from board members, and reports from stable inspectors. A tour of the TRRC and Plot Twist Farm operations will follow the meeting. Maryland Horse Industry Board Meeting Notice
A meeting of the Maryland Horse Industry Board will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 10 A.M. by teleconference.
The meeting was originally scheduled to be In-person at Ocean Downs, but due to the heat we have experienced this summer, we are moving the meeting to a virtual format.
The meeting will include current information and discussion concerning Horse Board initiatives, updates from board members and reports from stable inspectors. There will also be a de-briefing from the August 8 MD Horse Forum and a presentation about plans for the upcoming ninth Horse Land exhibition at the MD State Fair.
A detailed agenda, minutes from the June 13, 2024 meeting at Clarity Riding and July 9, 2024 meeting by teleconference as well as project updates and a financial summary will be sent out prior to the meeting.
