Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation Board of Trustees Seeks Nominations

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation Board of Trustees is seeking nominations to fill two at-large positions.

Typical business items include: recommending land preservation easements for approval to the Board of Public Works, review of easement owner lot requests/locations, review of farm agricultural subdivision requests, review of non-standard agricultural easement requests, dealing with easement infractions, and generation of policies, regulations and law to govern the Program.

To be considered, applicants must be Maryland residents and farmer representatives (either actively engaged in or retired from active farming) from different areas of the State. Appointments are made by Governor Larry Hogan, and each member is eligible to serve two four-year appointed terms, at the Governor’s discretion.

The Board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Maryland Dept. of Agriculture headquarters in Annapolis from 9 a.m. until noon. The Board generally does not meet in December.

For consideration, please contact Carol West at [email protected] or (410) 841-5860 for more information and application forms.

All forms must be received by January 29, 2016.
