Maryland Agricultural Commission Seeks Nominations
ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Agricultural Commission is seeking nominations to fill eleven positions. The Commission serves as an advisory body to the Secretary of Agriculture which represents all major commodities in the state. As a group, Commission members address legislative and policy issues that affect Maryland agribusiness.
The open positions represent:
- Agri-Tourism
- At Large / Ag. Services (Two vacancies)
- Dairy
- Forestry
- Livestock
- Poultry
- Tobacco
- Viticulture
For consideration, applicants must be Maryland residents and have experience in the field they are representing. Appointments are made by Governor Larry Hogan, and each member is eligible to serve two three-year terms at the Governor’s discretion. The Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month from 8:30 a.m. until noon.
