THIRD MARYLAND HORSE FORUM SET FOR AUGUST 7, 2014

ANNAPOLIS, MD. — A trio of nationally-known speakers, intensive, fully-participatory brainstorming sessions concerning industry issues, and the presentation of several awards are among the highlights of the 2014 Maryland Horse Forum, Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, Md.

The Forum has been held at five-year intervals since 2004 and brings together approximately 300 industry leaders from all segments of the equine community to discuss major industry issues. Prior Forums have resulted in comprehensive recommendations, many of which have been implemented throughout the industry.

The theme of this year’s Forum is “Celebrating Our Successes, Planning for the Future.” Topics include marketing and promoting the industry; business and regulatory issues; land, greenways and going green; and managing the Maryland horse population.

Scheduled to speak are Patti Colbert, chair of the American Horse Council national marketing alliance; Steve Day, President and CEO of Dover Saddlery; and Todd Gralla, global designer of horse parks, including the recent Equestrian Olympic venues in London.

The Forum is co-sponsored by the Maryland Horse Industry Board and the Maryland Horse Council.  Awards will be presented throughout the program to horsemen and women for outstanding service to the industry.

Admission is free and open to all members of the Maryland equine community. However, advance registration is required. To register and learn more about the Forum, visit:  http://mdhorseforum2014.eventbrite.com/.
