Hagerstown Inmate Walks Off Job

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Hagerstown inmate who left his work release job late Saturday, August 25, 2018.

Charles Smallwood, 55, is incarcerated at the Maryland Correctional Training Center and is halfway through a six-year sentence for robbery. He was working at the Boonsboro American Legion post and was reported missing by supervisors at about 9 p.m.

A post official told authorities that Smallwood noted that his grandmother was sick in Frederick and left in a white Nissan Altima that police are looking for.
