Public Safety lends a hand after Harvey
TOWSON, MD — Public Safety employees are dedicated to our communities, but we are also dedicated to helping wherever they can. Even if it means traveling to Texas.
Karen H. Koski-Miller is the director of social work at Public Safety. She is also a disaster mental health volunteer for the Red Cross, and was deployed to Texas to help with relief efforts after Hurricane Harvey.
“Here are some images to give a sense of what’s going on. The need for assistance remains huge, but the citizens of Houston are strong and pulling together in many wonderful ways,” Koski-Miller said, adding, “The dogs are also shelter residents until their owners are able to return home.”
Thanks to Karen, and to volunteers from around the country (and the world) who risk their safety, and volunteer their time to aide in the relief efforts of natural disasters.
