Tee time success

TOWSON, MD — The Wroten-McGuinn Golf Committee last year sponsored two golf tournaments supporting Pressley Ridge, a treatment foster care agency.

The 11th Annual Wroten-McGuinn golf tournament was held on August 12 at Carroll Valley Golf Resort in Fairfield, Penn. Despite the 100 degree weather, 128 golfers game out to the greens.

On October 7, for the first time, the Wroten-McGuinn Fall Classic was held at the Greencastle Greens Golf Course in Greencastle, Penn. It was a perfect fall day for golf.

The tournament has been donating money in the names of Jeffrey Alan Wroten and David Warren McGuinn for more than a decade. Both men were former correctional officers, killed in the line of duty.

In 2016, total of $2,000 was raised for Pressley Ridge, which provides intensive services to children and families in Garrett, Allegany, and Washington Counties. Pressley Ridge serves children who have experienced trauma in their lives. As a team, they work with children and their families to help them thrive at home, at school, and in the community.

On behalf of the golf committee, many thanks to the golfers and sponsors for making 2016 a banner year!
