{"id":9215,"date":"2015-10-11T14:45:44","date_gmt":"2015-10-11T18:45:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dnr\/?p=9215"},"modified":"2017-04-14T16:03:41","modified_gmt":"2017-04-14T20:03:41","slug":"nrp-investigating-fatal-hunting-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dnr\/2015\/10\/11\/nrp-investigating-fatal-hunting-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"NRP Investigating Fatal Hunting Accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Maryland Natural Resources Police investigators are continuing to gather evidence in a fatal hunting accident late Saturday afternoon in Queen Anne&#8217;s County.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Marvin Bowen Coppage, 75, of Henderson was killed by a shotgun blast from a client during a guided pheasant and chukar hunt as he and his dog were flushing a bird from the brush. Coppage was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 5 p.m. by Queen Anne&#8217;s County first responders.<\/p>\n<p>The shooter is believed to be a 14-year-old boy who was a member of the hunting party that had hired Coppage, an employee of Schrader&#8217;s Outdoors Ltd.
