Deer mating season is right around the corner, which means <\/span>deer<\/span><\/a>\u00a0will travel across roads in often unpredictable patterns at all times of the day and night in search of a mate. Most other wildlife are also more active at this time of year, as they search for food to prepare for the coming winter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Maryland Department of Natural Resources<\/span><\/a>\u00a0reminds motorists to be vigilant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Although the decreasing temperatures indicate the arrival of autumn and beautiful fall colors, they also coincide with the beginning of the deer breeding season<\/span>,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Wildlife and Heritage Service<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Director Karina Stonesifer said. \u201c<\/span>Drivers are urged to exercise increased caution on the road and remain vigilant for heightened deer activity through the end of the year.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
