Bid packages for trapping privileges at multiple Eastern Shore properties can be picked up at LeCompte or Wellington wildlife management areas, depending on location. Maryland DNR photo.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently accepting bids for the 2026-2027 trapping season at several Wildlife Management Areas and other public lands. Deadlines for submitting bid packages for any location is October 14.<\/span><\/p>\n

The individual with the highest bid for each area will be awarded annual trapping privileges. To bid for trapping privileges at <\/span>Ellis Bay<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Fishing Bay<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Idylwild<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>LeCompte<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Linkwood<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Nanticoke River<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Taylor\u2019s Island<\/span><\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>Wetipquin<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Wildlife Management Areas, bid packages must be picked up and submitted by noon on Oct. 14, 2026 at LeCompte Wildlife Management Area, 4220 Steele Neck Road, Vienna. Sealed bids will be opened at 1 p.m. on Oct. 14.\u00a0For additional information, trappers should call 410-376-3236, ext. 302 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

To bid for trapping privileges at\u00a0<\/span>Cedar Island<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Deal Island<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>E. A. Vaughn<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Fairmount<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Isle of Wight<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Johnson<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Maryland Marine Properties<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Pocomoke River<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Pocomoke Sound<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>South Marsh Island<\/span><\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>Wellington<\/span><\/a> Wildlife Management Areas, as well as <\/span>Janes Island State Park<\/span><\/a>, bid packages must be picked up and submitted by noon on Oct. 14, 2026, at the Wellington Wildlife Management Area, 32733 Dublin Road, Princess Anne. Sealed bids will be opened at 1 p.m. on Oct. 14.\u00a0For additional information, trappers should call 410-651-2065 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
