The season contains two segments, Dec. 19 through Jan. 3, 2026, and again from Jan. 14 through Jan. 31, 2026. Late southern and late western resident goose hunting split seasons run from late November into March 2026.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cA Maryland Canada goose hunt is a great opportunity to reconnect with family and friends, or introduce a new hunter to the tradition,\u201d said Wildlife and Heritage Service Director Karina Stonesifer. \u201cCanada geese are one of Maryland\u2019s iconic gamebirds and the sounds of migrating geese are a sign that fall has arrived.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The daily bag limit is one goose per day in Maryland\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/maryland.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/webappviewer\/index.html?id=caf337498c1b4da2b2081f542be6d6bc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AP Canada Goose Hunting Zone<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The possession limit for all migratory game birds is three times the daily bag limit.\u00a0 More information on waterfowl seasons, regulations and license requirements, is available on the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/huntersguide\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DNR Wildlife and Heritage Service website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For late southern and late western resident goose zones, the boundaries, season dates, and bag limits are as follows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/maryland.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/webappviewer\/index.html?id=caf337498c1b4da2b2081f542be6d6bc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Late Southern Maryland Resident Goose Zone<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> includes Montgomery County; and that portion of Prince George\u2019s County west of Route 3 and Route 301; and that portion of Charles County west of Route 301. Hunters should note these are new zone boundaries. Season dates and bag limits in this zone are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nov. 22-28 and Dec. 15-18, bag limit 5 per day, possession limit of 15<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dec. 19\u2013Jan. 3, 2026, bag limit 1 per day, possession limit of 3<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jan. 5-13, 2026; bag limit 5 per day, possession limit of 15<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jan. 14-31, 2026, bag limit 1 per day, possession limit of 3<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Feb. 2\u2013March. 7, 2026, bag limit 5 per day, possession limit of 15<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/maryland.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/webappviewer\/index.html?id=caf337498c1b4da2b2081f542be6d6bc\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Late Western Maryland Resident Canada Goose Zone<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> includes Allegany, Frederick, Garrett, Washington, and that portion of Carroll County west of Route 31 to the intersection of Route 97, and west of Route 97 to the Pennsylvania line. The season is open Nov. 22 \u2013 Nov. 28 and Dec. 15 \u2013 Mar. 7, 2026, with a daily bag limit of 5 per day and a possession limit of 15.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Licenses, stamps, and permits may be purchased\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/compass.dnr.maryland.gov\/dnrcompassportal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">on the MD Outdoors website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, at a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/Pages\/service_centers.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DNR Service Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, or at any one of the more than\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/Pages\/service_agents.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">250 Sport License Agents<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> statewide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The DNR website includes information on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eregulations.com\/maryland\/hunting\/public-hunting-lands\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maryland public land hunting opportunities<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
