Ayton State Tree Nursery is accepting orders for spring tree plantings at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/links-1.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/http:%2F%2Fnursery.dnr.maryland.gov%2F\/2\/0100019a2666832c-ee130d97-95fd-4852-a25e-0191ab29888c-000000\/u0rsNmzWx9FnEKsO083kqGjOA25Ln30sNb0Q8M09HAY=428\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>nursery.dnr.maryland.gov<\/b><\/a><b>. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">More than 31 tree and shrub species remain available for purchase this year.\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Trees improve the environment and help keep Maryland\u2019s waters clean. All trees planted help Maryland\u2019s tree canopy spread and count toward Maryland\u2019s 5 Million Tree Initiative, which is on its way to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dnr\/2025\/01\/06\/maryland-departments-of-natural-resources-environment-celebrate-milestone-of-1-million-trees-planted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">planting 5 million trees across Maryland by 2031<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Property owners can contact their <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/links-1.govdelivery.com\/CL0\/https:%2F%2Fdnr.maryland.gov%2Fforests%2FPages%2Fcontacts.aspx\/1\/010001926799d8f5-669206ff-67e9-4fcd-9add-61e07d369958-000000\/XRGSENZytAi_rEQQMcUtaRX9so-P5O9IiYwyyPB_27Q=373\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">local forestry office<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, available on the Maryland Forest Service website, with questions about site conditions, species selection, and financial incentives for which property owners may qualify.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Minimum order is 25 seedlings per species.
