Bag limits, season dates, and shooting hours can be found in the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/huntersguide\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2021-2022 Maryland Guide to Hunting and Trapping<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u201cMaryland hunters wait for September with a high degree of anticipation as this month marks the beginning of the fall hunting seasons,\u201d Wildlife and Heritage Service Director Paul Peditto said. \u201cOur diverse landscape and abundant <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/Wildlife\/Pages\/publiclands\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">access to public land<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> offer exciting opportunities for both experienced and new hunters alike. We wish a safe and memorable season to all who venture outdoors in Maryland this fall.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Season dates are as follows. Shooting hours begin 30 minutes before sunrise and end at sunset for all early migratory game bird hunting seasons except as noted below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Dove, split season<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">First Season: Sept. 1 &#8211; Oct. 16 (shooting hours are from noon to sunset)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Second Season: Oct. 23 &#8211; Nov. 26<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Third Season: Dec. 17 &#8211; Jan. 8, 2022<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Woodcock, split season<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">First Season: Oct. 20- Nov. 26<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Second Season: Jan. 10-22, 2022<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Early resident Canada Goose season<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eastern zone: Sept. 1-15\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Western zone: Sept. 1-25<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For the early Canada Goose season, hunters are allowed to use shotguns capable of holding more than three shot shells. Shooting hours are extended to a half-hour before sunrise to a half-hour after sunset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Teal, September season<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sept. 16\u201330<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shooting hours will be a half-hour before sunrise to sunset. The daily bag limit is six teal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All migratory bird hunters, including landowners who are license-exempt, must purchase a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/wildlife\/Pages\/hunt_trap\/mgb_stamps.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maryland Migratory Game Bird Stamp\/Harvest Information Program Permit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and possess the printed receipt while hunting. All waterfowl hunters, ages 16 and older, must possess a Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp (Federal Duck Stamp). Licenses, permits, and stamps can be purchased online, by phone at 855-855-3906, at a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/Pages\/service_centers.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">department service center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> or any of the 250 <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/Pages\/service_agents.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sport license agents<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hunters are encouraged to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fws.gov\/birds\/surveys-and-data\/bird-banding\/reporting-banded-birds.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">report banded migratory game birds online<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
