Information about the sites proposed, including a video presentation, is available now on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/pages\/oysters\/manokin.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">department\u2019s website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0 Public comment will be taken through March 9.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A virtual public meeting is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23; access information is available on the department\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/go.activecalendar.com\/doit-md\/event\/virtual-public-meeting---manokin-river-sanctuary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Manokin River has been approved as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/pages\/oysters\/projects.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">fifth large-scale tributary<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for oyster restoration in Maryland water to meet goals of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement of 2014. Large-scale restoration efforts are slated to begin in 2021 in the Manokin River sanctuary.
