Due to COVID-19 restrictions and staff safety protocols, scheduled stocking and allotments may be altered, and the department will not have a published stocking schedule.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The department will announce areas that have been stocked within a short time. All stocked locations that fall under a closure period will be announced prior to the traditional opening day March 27.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For updates, visit the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/Pages\/trout\/stocking.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">department&#8217;s trout stocking <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/pages\/email.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sign up<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to get daily stocking notifications via email, or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">anglers may also call 800-688-3467 and press option 1 to get a recorded weekly update when stocking has occurred (usually updated on Fridays)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additionally, new <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/Pages\/regulations\/changes.aspx#brookie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">regulations for brook trout<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> are now in effect requiring catch and release only in all put-and-take trout areas and all waters east of Interstate 81.
