Data collected from anglers help the department to observe overall fish health and helps inform managers as they develop, plan, and implement activities surrounding any one of a number of species.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This fall, anglers can submit their trout catches on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSecGXN1H62i_KpeacapNf9l1nU9YfEvMKvPsgpub5U4qcDbhQ\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">freshwater multispecies survey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> while those setting their sites on muskellunge can easily participate in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfL0R1KwSAHbVuB7JKvOAb9OsVX3i6B_qQmTYUWrdWET0wY3g\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">muskie survey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The department also has specific surveys for <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/Pages\/striped-bass\/SB_survey.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">striped bass<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdFumd6L_s9UHdnUYRJhIljQEEUnpURYGKEeX5SjEOlocC3Vg\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">blue crab<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and by fishing location through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/Pages\/reefs\/MARI_Survey.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">artificial reef initiative<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. An important new survey helps track the invasive<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeWs18LFQi7u9ozhPO_2yTcDXkU6X9Plzj-4D-Z0gi6SwGpAA\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">northern snakehead<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anglers who submit their data are eligible for prizes for each survey category.
