{"id":30632,"date":"2020-05-11T15:59:47","date_gmt":"2020-05-11T19:59:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dnr\/?p=30632"},"modified":"2020-05-11T16:28:51","modified_gmt":"2020-05-11T20:28:51","slug":"hunters-education-field-day-grace-period-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dnr\/2020\/05\/11\/hunters-education-field-day-grace-period-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"Hunter Education Field Day Grace Period Extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Extra Six Months Granted for Completing Course<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Continuing <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/governor.maryland.gov\/2020\/03\/12\/governor-hogan-announces-major-actions-to-protect-public-health-limit-spread-of-covid-19-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Governor Larry Hogan\u2019s emergency actions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to protect public health during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Maryland Natural Resources Police is adjusting requirements for the state&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/nrp\/Pages\/hunter_education.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hunter education<\/a> course, effective May 11, 2020 and until further notice.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>Any Maryland hunter education student that has completed an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hunter-ed.com\/maryland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online field of study course<\/a> since March 1 will have 18 months from their completion date to participate in the required field day workshop.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>This is an extension of six months from the original grace period, granted while in-person classes are suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Any field day voucher issued between March 1 and May 11 will receive an automatic six-month deadline extension whenever the department resumes field day workshops.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interested hunters should continue to check the department\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/nrp\/Pages\/hunter_education.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">hunter education website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for any updates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Extra Six Months Granted for Completing Course Continuing Governor Larry Hogan\u2019s emergency actions to protect public health during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Maryland Natural Resources Police is adjusting requirements for the state&#8217;s hunter education course, effective May 11, 2020 and until further notice.
