The comment period concludes Feb. 28.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Annual work plans help the department identify priorities within the scope of the forests\u2019 long-range management. They address composition, establishment, growth, health, and quality along with construction and maintenance projects.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cPublic input is essential to help us develop the most comprehensive and effective management practices for these forested lands, which in turn are vital to the entire state\u2019s environment and economy,\u201d acting Maryland State Forester Kenneth Jolly said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The public comment period is the final part in a three-step process. The first step was an internal review by a team of natural resource professionals, with the second being a review by an appointed advisory committee.
