Ayton State Tree Nursery<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maryland Department of Natural Resources<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> offers holiday shoppers the opportunity to give a lasting legacy. The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gift of Trees is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">a program where Marylanders purchase native trees &#8212; either a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shopdnr.com\/tree-mendousmarylandgiftoftrees.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">single tree<\/a> or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shopdnr.com\/tree-mendousmarylandgiftoftrees-entiregrove.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">grove of 10 trees<\/a> &#8212; for planting in honor of a celebration, commemoration, or observation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A Gift of Trees certificate suitable for framing will be issued and mailed out within a week or two of an order. All trees will be planted in the next growing season \u2013 either spring or fall \u2013 to promote optimal growth and survival. Orders must be placed by Dec. 17 to ensure certificate delivery in time for the holidays.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For orders received through Dec. 6, additional savings apply.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All trees will be planted in locations that will benefit from them the most, including parks, playgrounds and schoolyards; cities and towns; and along creeks and streams. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/forests\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maryland Forest Service<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> staff help choose the appropriate location and species to best assure the tree flourishes well into the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Trees can be ordered <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shopdnr.com\/tree-mendousmarylandgiftoftrees.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">online<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> or via <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/forests\/Pages\/treemendous\/orderbymail.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">mail<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (a separate order form should be used for each recipient) along with a check made payable to: Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Forest Service, Tawes State Office Building, E-1, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Orders Taken Now for the Holidays The Maryland Department of Natural Resources offers holiday shoppers the opportunity to give a lasting legacy.
