{"id":29260,"date":"2019-10-28T10:55:35","date_gmt":"2019-10-28T14:55:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dnr\/?p=29260"},"modified":"2019-10-28T10:55:16","modified_gmt":"2019-10-28T14:55:16","slug":"youth-waterfowl-hunting-days-announced-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dnr\/2019\/10\/28\/youth-waterfowl-hunting-days-announced-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth Waterfowl Hunting Days Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Opportunities for Young Hunters to Hone Skills<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright \" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/4730\/39325821672_56a8e6055d.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of man helping young hunter\" width=\"330\" height=\"248\" \/>Young Marylanders can hone their hunting skills with the help of an experienced adult during two <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/huntersguide\/Pages\/JrHunters.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Youth Waterfowl Hunt Days<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Nov. 2, 2019 and Feb. 8, 2020.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cGetting outdoors and hunting with your children is a great way to create lasting memories while reinforcing safety lessons learned in a Hunter Education course,\u201d Wildlife and Heritage Service Director Paul Peditto said. \u201cGoing the extra mile with youth and new hunters will help create future generations of conservationists that recognize the value of protecting wetland habitat so important to waterfowl and other wildlife.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Those 16 years of age or younger may hunt ducks, geese, and coots on both public and private land on these two days when aided by an unarmed adult at least 21 years old. All junior hunters and their adult mentors must possess Maryland hunting licenses.
