Eligible Hunters Can Apply Until Oct. 18<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\"Photo<\/span>The Maryland Department of Natural Resources<\/a><\/span> invites junior, apprentice, and lapsed hunters to apply to participate in this year\u2019s stocked pheasant hunts, which take place November 23-24.<\/span><\/p>\n

These do-it-yourself hunts will take place on nine wildlife management areas<\/a> across the state and two state forests<\/a> in western Maryland. This is the second year the department is stocking pheasants.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Department of Natural Resources is very excited to offer this unique hunting opportunity,\u201d said Paul Peditto, Director of the Wildlife and Heritage Service. \u201cLast year was the first time we offered stocked pheasant hunts and the program exceeded our expectations and left those who participated with memories to last a lifetime.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Pheasants will be stocked at the following locations:<\/span><\/p>\n

Allegany County:<\/b> Belle Grove Wildlife Management Area<\/a>; Green Ridge State Forest<\/a>; Warrior Mountain Wildlife Management Area<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cecil County:<\/b> Old Bohemia Wildlife Management Area<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Charles County:<\/b> Chicamuxen Wildlife Management Area<\/a>; Myrtle Grove Wildlife Management Area<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Garrett County:<\/b> Cunningham Swamp Wildlife Management Area<\/a>; Mount Nebo Wildlife Management Area<\/a>; Savage River State Forest\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Montgomery County:<\/b> McKee-Beshers Wildlife Management Area<\/span><\/a>
\n<\/span>Washington County<\/b>: Indian Springs Wildlife Management Area<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Space is limited at each area to assure a quality experience. All interested hunters must have a DNR ID number and valid Maryland hunting license, and must apply to participate using an online <\/span>application form<\/span><\/a> by Oct. 18. Participants will be chosen at random via lottery.<\/span><\/p>\n
