The Maryland Amphibian and Reptile Atlas is now available through Johns Hopkins University Press. This collaborative atlas is a result of over 1,000 community scientist volunteers and biologists working together to document distributions of reptiles and amphibians across Maryland. The guide contains over 85 natural history accounts of reptiles and amphibians found in Maryland as well as data from a five-year statewide survey.<!--more--> In addition to species accounts, the Atlas contains historical information about Maryland\u2019s herpetofauna, as well as habitat, climate and land use data and conservation information.<\/p>\n<p>In the coming months, we will be updating our reptile and amphibian information on the department website to reflect current information from the text. As you visit our pages, you may notice name changes, updated natural history information and new distribution data. Currently, the \u201cSnakes of Maryland\u201d pages have been updated to reflect recent taxonomy changes.
