The department has introduced several informational videos, supplemental fact sheets and an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/Pages\/snakehead.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">updated webpage<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Northern snakeheads were first observed in Maryland waters in 2002, and the species gained a foothold in tidal waters. Since then it has spread to every major tributary of the Chesapeake Bay &#8212; as have stories about the species that aren\u2019t always accurate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The department relies heavily on conservation-minded anglers, armed with correct information, \u00a0to help address the problem.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The videos provide <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ekajrDaaVdc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">general information<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on snakeheads, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/yLxieaDldUI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">regulations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and advice from an expert angler on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ljzNcBOqqHg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">how to target the snakehead<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
