In 2019, the department will stock trout in 133 locations in 18 counties. \u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The department raises the majority of these trout in the state\u2019s hatcheries, including the <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/Pages\/hatcheries\/powell.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Albert M. Powell Hatchery<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/Pages\/hatcheries\/bear.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bear Creek Hatchery<\/a>, and through a partnership with the privately owned <a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/fisheries\/Pages\/hatcheries\/Mettiki.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mettiki Hatchery<\/a>. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOur hatcheries staff work hard throughout the year to raise and stock trout, which showcase this magnificent fishery,\u201d Fishing and Boating Services Director David Blazer said. \u201cWe expect this to be a memorable season for Maryland\u2019s dedicated trout anglers.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Trout stocking is funded by revenue from fishing licenses, trout stamps and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Sport Fish Restoration Program. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anglers should consult the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eregulations.com\/maryland\/fishing\/put-take-trout-fishing-areas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2019 Maryland Guide to Fishing and Crabbing<\/a> for specific details on daily creel limits and other important information.
