The pass provides unlimited day-use admission and boat launching at state parks, and a 10 percent discount on state-operated concessions and boat rentals.<\/p>\n<p>To enhance the pass&#8217; convenience and value, the annual passport will now be valid for a full year from the month of purchase, instead of by calendar year making it a great deal for every outdoor enthusiast.\u00a0For example, a passport purchased in April 2019 will expire in April 2020. And as an additional bonus for early-adopters and purchasers, any passport bought before Dec. 31, 2018, will be valid through December 2019, meaning two extra months at no additional cost!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The newly designed passport comes in a self-contained packet with a detachable hang-tag for use in any vehicle. It will provide for easy and smooth entry to any state park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe enacted this change to give park customers and visitors the flexibility to purchase passports at their convenience,\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryland Park Service<\/a> Superintendent Nita Settina said. \u201cProceeds from passport sales fund the operations and maintenance of our vast network of diverse state parks, including conservation, education and interpretation of our state&#8217;s cultural, historical and natural resources.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maryland\u2019s 75 state parks include more than 900 miles of trails for biking, hiking and horseback riding, as well as unique water access and camping facilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Adults ages 62 and older can purchase a <a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/Pages\/goldenage.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Golden Age Pass<\/a> for $10, which provides a lifetime pass entitling seniors to free day-use entry and complimentary boat launch in addition to half-price camping Sunday through Thursday at state parks.
