Filing reports? Fetching coffee? What do you think this is\u2014a boring bureaucracy gig? Over the summer, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources welcomed 22 interns<\/a> in seven units to gain invaluable hands-on experience. Several trips into the field were also arranged for maximum exposure to different areas of expertise, as well as an opportunity to meet others in the program.<\/p>\n

In pursuit of an environmental studies degree, former Marine, Zach Carnegie, spent his summer with the Maryland Forest Service<\/a> at Morgan Run. Zach spent his previous two summers with the Maryland Park Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Living resources assessment<\/a> intern Daphne Warner and Nathan jumped at the chance to go on a police<\/a> ride along to see what officers do out on the water.<\/p>\n
