More than 20 qualification sessions will be held at 17 locations across the state, with more dates expected to be added later.<\/p>\n<p>These events allow hunters to take the proficiency test required to obtain a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/huntersguide\/Pages\/shootqual.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shooter qualification card.<\/a>\u00a0Passing the test is necessary to participate in many of the <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/wildlife\/Pages\/hunt_trap\/ddmtmnghunt.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">managed deer hunts<\/a> scheduled throughout the fall and winter.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Tests at several locations are by appointment only and many facilities charge a minimal fee. Hunters are also reminded that a lottery system is used to select participants for many of the managed deer hunts.
