High Tide in Dorchester; by Dave Harp<\/p><\/div>\n

Change is coming. The question is, will it be a change that moves the nation\u2019s largest estuary closer to restoration, or further from it? This Chesapeake Bay Week, April 22-28<\/a>, Maryland Public Television broadcasts several programs that expose issues important for everyone who lives in the watershed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featured programming<\/strong>
\n Healing Baltimore\u2019s Harbor: A Pipe Dream?<\/em> explores ongoing water pollution caused by the city\u2019s chronically-leaking underground sewer infrastructure, and what citizens and communities are doing about it.<\/p>\n

High Tide in Dorchester<\/em> journeys across southern Dorchester County to document the unmistakable signs that sea level rise has arrived in Maryland.<\/p>\n

Frank Sesno hosts The Chesapeake Bay Summit 2018<\/em>\u2014a conversation among world renowned Chesapeake Bay experts who gather to discuss climate change and sea level rise in the bay, and what it could mean for the watershed\u2019s fragile chemistry, its wildlife and the people who live and work along its shoreline.<\/p>\n

Yet despite the uncertainty that comes with change, there\u2019s still a lot to celebrate about the bay. Namely, its tradition. Eatin\u2019 the Chesapeake: The Five Feasts<\/em>. Our producers canvassed the state in search of some of the finest culinary dishes\u2014from colonial cookbooks, crab shacks, German home-kitchen cooks, to southern Maryland farms, Eastern Shore chicken-fry kitchens and Smith Island fresh-off-the-boat supper tables.<\/p>\n

So, pull up a chair and sample the best dishes the region has to offer!<\/p>\n
