Bramble<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryland Department of Natural Resources<\/a> is offering another opportunity for hunters this winter. Winter turkey hunting season runs Jan. 18-20 statewide, giving hunters that did not bag a turkey in the fall another chance.<\/p>\n<p>The department established the winter season in 2015 in an effort to increase turkey hunting opportunities while minimizing conflicts with other seasons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWild turkey populations are at all-time highs in many areas,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/Wildlife\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wildlife and Heritage Service<\/a> Director Paul Peditto said. \u201cThis season offers a great opportunity for hunters to get outdoors when other popular hunting seasons are closed or winding down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Maryland hunters can use the following weapons during the winter turkey season:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shotguns loaded with No. 4 shot or smaller;<\/li>\n<li>Crossbows and vertical bows; or<\/li>\n<li>Air guns that shoot arrows or bolts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hunting hours are from half-hour before sunrise to half-hour after sunset. The\u00a0bag limit\u00a0is one turkey of either sex.
