Somers Cove Marina Executive Director Tom Schisler Recognized at Board of Public Works<\/em><\/p>\n

Governor Larry Hogan awards Somers Cove Marina Executive Director Tom Schisler with a Customer Service Award<\/p><\/div>\n

Governor Larry Hogan recognized Maryland Department of Natural Resources<\/a> employee Tom Schisler today with a Customer Service Heroes Award. Schisler, executive director of Somers Cove Marina<\/a> in Crisfield, was honored for enhancing customer service and improving facility maintenance at the state-managed marina. The award presentation occurred during the Board of Public Works meeting.<\/p>\n

The Customer Service Heroes Award was created by Governor Hogan in 2016 to recognize individuals who have demonstrated and exceeded expectations set within the state’s Customer Service Promise.<\/p>\n

“Under Tom Schisler\u2019s leadership, Somers Cove Marina in Crisfield is one of the highest-rated marinas in the United States,\u201d said Governor Larry Hogan. \u201cThis honor is directly attributable to the tremendous effort of Tom and his team for providing excellent customer service, and I congratulate him for this distinguished honor.”<\/p>\n

Located on the Lower Eastern Shore in historic Crisfield \u2013 the “crab capital of the world” \u2013 Somers Cove Marina is a 515-slip marina offering access\u00a0to many of Somerset County\u2019s finest amenities and attractions, including Janes Island State Park<\/a> and Smith Island out in Tangier Sound. A welcome port of call for all vessels, the marina boasts some of the most reasonable fuel prices on the bay.<\/p>\n

“Tom has made tremendous progress as executive director, meeting and exceeding visitors’ expectations and needs,\u201d Maryland Natural Resources Secretary Mark Belton said. \u201cI congratulate him and the rest of the Somers Cove Marina team for their commitment to our customers and our marina. Somers Cove is truly a great place to refuel, relax and recharge when out on the water.\u201d<\/p>\n

Somers Cove Marina was recently named a 2017 Marinas.com<\/a> Boaters Choice Award winner. The marina received outstanding reviews from boaters and was in the top 2 percent of highest-rated marinas in the United States.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
