Cabin stays, harvest crafts, hayrides, pumpkin patches, warm cider. We\u2019ll get to that with the next article, but first, let\u2019s take a look at what some of our parks are up to when the sun goes down and the ghouls come out. <\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>The<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Legend<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Sleepy<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Hollow<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><i><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/Pages\/central\/gunpowder.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gunpowder Falls<\/a>, Harford County<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s2\">A magical fall celebration transforms the <\/span>historic village at Jerusalem Village into <span class=\"s2\">Sleepy Hollow. Come and hike our family-friendly haunted trail\u2014spooky, but not <\/span>horrifying\u2014get your face painted, make a <span class=\"s2\">scarecrow, play games and listen to music. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\" style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Date<\/b>: Oct. 21 | Time: Noon-8 p.m.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>Cost<\/b>: $10\/person (for craft)<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>Register<\/b>: 410-877-3560<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Spirits<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>the Furnace<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><i><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/Pages\/western\/cunningham.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cunningham Falls<\/a>, Frederick County<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s2\">Ghostly guides will take you on a night hike through the haunted trails to the historic Catoctin Iron Furnace. Costumed <\/span>spirits will make frequent stops along the <span class=\"s2\">way to tell old folklore of Frederick\u2019s past.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\">Hikes will take approximately a half-hour and cover some rocky terrain and steep steps. After the hike, a van will take <span class=\"s2\">guests to the Visitor Center to enjoy apple cider and s\u2019mores by the campfire. The museum will also be open for viewing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p10\">Wear warm clothing and shoes ap<span class=\"s2\">propriate for hiking, and bring a flashlight. This hike may not be appropriate for young children and does not accommodate strollers or wheelchairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\" style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>Date<\/b>: Oct. 21 | Time: 7-9:30 p.m.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>Cost<\/b>: $5\/adult (13 &amp; up), $3\/child (7-12)<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b>Register<\/b>: 301-271-3676<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p9\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>Haunted<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>History<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Hike<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><i><a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/Pages\/central\/soldiersdelight.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soldiers Delight<\/a>, Baltimore County<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\">Are you afraid of the dark? We hope not! <span class=\"s2\">Follow a ghostly guide by lantern light through the park while listening to ghostly tales of local lore.
