This 1,914-acre property is located in southwest Charles County,\u00a0situated on a peninsula between Nanjemoy Creek and the Potomac River.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/wildlife\/Pages\/publiclands\/southern\/Cedar-Point-WMA---15-Year-Vision-Plan.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Draft Management Plan<\/a> was developed to establish long-term goals, and to maintain and manage public access for natural resource protection and outdoor recreation, including hunting and trapping. The draft plan addresses conserving, protecting and restoring sensitive wildlife habitats as well as creating and enhancing valuable habitat for game species.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The vision plan is important because it provides current and future guidance on the long-term management of area,&#8221; Wildlife and Heritage Service\u00a0Southern Region Manager\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\">David Heilmeier said. &#8220;<\/span>Through this plan, we hope to enhance and protect essential habitat, unique and sensitive plant and animal communities, and wildlife while maintaining public access and recreational opportunities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The public may submit comments by mail (Maryland Department of Natural Resources &#8211; Wildlife and Heritage Service, 6904 Hallowing Lane, Prince Frederick, Maryland 20678); by <a href=\"mailto:David.Heilmeier@maryland.gov?subject=Cedar%20Point%20WMA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">email<\/a>; or by calling 410-535-0282.
