href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maryland Department of Natural Resources<\/a> today announced the awarding of 23\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/land\/Pages\/ProgramOpenSpace\/cpp-Intro.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Community Parks and Playgrounds Program<\/a> grants \u2013 totaling $2.5 million \u2013 to municipalities across the state.<\/p>\n<p>From pickleball courts in Ocean City to new playground equipment in Mountain Lake Park, the program provides essential funding for the creation, enhancement and renovation of recreational facilities in Maryland&#8217;s incorporated cities and towns.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This department program is so important to communities and municipalities across Maryland,&#8221; Land Acquisition and Planning Director Emily Wilson said. &#8220;Our cities and towns really rely on this critical funding for needed recreational amenities designed to improve the quality of life of all our citizens and their neighborhoods.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The following\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/land\/Pages\/ProgramOpenSpace\/cpp-Intro.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Community Parks and Playgrounds Program<\/a>\u00a0projects were included
