The park is located at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Fort+Frederick+State+Park\/@39.613523,-78.0062389,15z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x25933fd7d946ed32!8m2!3d39.613523!4d-78.0062389?sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjjvI-Cx6vTAhVh64MKHcObAvoQ_BIIggEwDg\" target=\"_blank\">11100 Fort Frederick Road<\/a> in Big Pool.<\/p>\n<p>The Fort Frederick Market Fair features the best artisans, craftspeople, entertainers and sutlers together with an 18th century encampment alongside the park\u2019s historic stone fort, originally built in 1756 during the French and Indian War.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->\u201cThrough their attendance and portrayals of life as it was in the 1700s, our event participants demonstrate the flavor of an 18th century market fair for all to enjoy,\u201d said Jenifer Scarisbrick, president of the <a href=\"http:\/\/friendsoffortfrederick.info\/\" target=\"_blank\">Friends of Fort Frederick State Park<\/a>. \u201cThis event is a wonderful opportunity to increase one\u2019s knowledge of the French and Indian War, and the role that the historic fort played in that conflict and in protecting the Maryland frontier.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The event features hundreds\u00a0of re-enactors and sutlers &#8211; civilian merchants who sell provisions to an army in the field &#8211; selling delicious food and 18th century wares, including paintings and prints, clothing, patterns, material, books, camp gear, muskets and accouterments, hornware, fireplace and cooking hardware, lanterns, tinware, copperware and pottery.<\/p>\n<p>The fair runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. There is free entertainment throughout the event and a fundraising auction Saturday to benefit the Friends of Fort Frederick State Park. The event is hosted by the group and the <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Maryland Park Service<\/a>.
