Individuals as well organizations such as school groups, scout troops, church youth groups, retirees and families can find out what volunteer opportunities are\u00a0available in the coming year.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers are needed in many different capacities, including: serving as camp hosts; assisting with trail maintenance; helping care for birds in the Scales and Tales program; staffing the nature and visitor centers; and many others depending on individual interest and availability.<\/p>\n<p>The Tuckahoe State Park Complex includes <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/pages\/eastern\/tuckahoe.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Tuckahoe State Park<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/pages\/eastern\/martinak.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Martinak State Park<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/pages\/eastern\/wyeisland.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Wye Island Natural Resource Management Area<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/pages\/eastern\/sassafras.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Sassafras Natural Resource Management Area<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr2.maryland.gov\/publiclands\/Pages\/eastern\/wyeoak.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Wye Oak State Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For more information or to register for the volunteer event,\u00a0please call (410) 820-1668.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Active and New Volunteers Welcomed Jan. 27 The\u00a0Maryland Park Service\u00a0will host a volunteer recognition event the evening of Jan. 27 at Martinak State Park in Denton.
