Largest Graduation Class in Police History<\/em><\/p>\n

\"30915023571_0547d4e7d1_o\"<\/a> Friends and family gathered at The John Carroll School in Harford County Saturday for the Maryland Natural Resources Police<\/a> Training Academy’s 58th Basic Recruit Class Graduation Ceremony. The class was the largest in police history, with\u00a027 graduates.\"30701549760_8930a59242_o\"<\/a>Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, the graduation ceremony’s keynote speaker, with Natural Resources Police Colonel Robert K. Ziegler, Jr.\u00a0The Maryland Natural Resources Police is the state’s\u00a0oldest state law enforcement agency, and one of the oldest conservation law enforcement organizations in the nation.\u00a0\"30915044591_27bdcd40bd_o-1\"<\/a>The recruits had seven and a half months of live-in academy training and will now conduct field training with a senior patrol officer for another 12 weeks.<\/p>\n

The new officers will bolster patrol areas across the state, enforcing fish and game laws, protecting state park visitors, carrying out search-and- rescue missions and acting as Maryland\u2019s lead law enforcement agency for maritime homeland security.<\/p>\n
