{"id":10427,"date":"2016-05-23T11:26:34","date_gmt":"2016-05-23T15:26:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dnr\/?p=10427"},"modified":"2016-05-23T11:31:42","modified_gmt":"2016-05-23T15:31:42","slug":"department-of-natural-resources-outlines-fee-reductions-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/dnr\/2016\/05\/23\/department-of-natural-resources-outlines-fee-reductions-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Department of Natural Resources Outlines Fee Reductions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>Beneficiaries Include Veterans and Youth<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/c2.staticflickr.com\/4\/3952\/15405773217_2462ebb248.jpg\" alt=\"Children smiling in a park\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following Maryland Governor Larry Hogan\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/governor.maryland.gov\/2016\/05\/12\/governor-larry-hogan-announces-additional-60-million-in-fee-cuts\/\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a>\u00a0that the state is eliminating or reducing $60 million in state-issued fees, the <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr2.maryland.gov\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Natural Resources<\/a> outlined its proposals which will save Marylanders approximately $2.71 million over the next five years.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As part of the program, military veterans will receive free admission to Maryland State Parks on Veterans Day and half-priced <a href=\"http:\/\/dnr2.maryland.gov\/Publiclands\/Pages\/oc.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">admission<\/a> year-round with proof of service. In addition, fourth grade students and their families will receive free admission to all state parks through the National Park Service\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.everykidinapark.gov\/get-your-pass\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Every Kid in a Park <\/em>pass<\/a>.
