(April 10, 2017)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u2013 The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development is announcing the FY18 application round for four available State Revitalization Programs \u2013 \u00a0Project C.O.R.E. (Creating Opportunities for Renewal and Enterprise), Community Legacy, Strategic Demolition Fund \u2013 Statewide (all non-Baltimore City) and the Baltimore Regional Neighborhood Initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These programs offer funding to support local housing, community and economic development and revitalization projects. They are part of the department\u2019s commitment to helping the state\u2019s local governments and nonprofit agencies achieve their community revitalization and economic development goals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Specifically, Governor Hogan\u2019s Fiscal Year 2018 budget items, approved by the Maryland General Assembly, include the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Project C.O.R.E.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: $10 million capital funds<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Community Legacy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: $6 million capital funds<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Strategic Demolition Fund \u2013 Statewide<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: $3.5 million capital funds<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Baltimore Regional Neighborhood Initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: $8 million capital funds and $750,000 operating funds<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The online State Revitalization Program application will not open until May 8, 2017, at which time applicants will have access to the application under the \u201cMy Opportunities\u201d tab within the Project Portal System at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/projectportal.dhcd.state.md.us\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">http:\/\/projectportal.dhcd.state.md.us<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Eligible applicants who are new users must register to the system to gain access.
