They are part of the department\u2019s commitment to helping the state\u2019s local governments and nonprofit agencies achieve their community revitalization and economic development goals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Specifically, Governor Hogan\u2019s Fiscal Year 2017 budget items, approved by the Maryland General Assembly, include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Community Legacy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: $6 million capital funds<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Strategic Demolition Fund \u2013 Statewide<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: $3.5 million capital funds<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Baltimore Regional Neighborhood Initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: $3 million capital funds and $750,000 operating funds<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Applications are due July 15, 2016. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The FY17 application due date for a fourth program, Strategic Demolition Fund &#8211; Project C.O.R.E., will be announced shortly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Applicant organizations must serve communities that include designated Sustainable Community areas (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/dhcd.maryland.gov\/Communities\/Pages\/dn\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">http:\/\/dhcd.maryland.gov\/Communities\/Pages\/dn\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and projects or initiatives that themselves align with local Sustainable Community Action Plans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To obtain a State Revitalization Program application, eligible applicants must register via the Project Portal System at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/projectportal.dhcd.state.md.us\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">http:\/\/projectportal.dhcd.state.md.us<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
