The program closed, effective April 8.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>DoublePlay<\/em> program followed the <em>MMP TriplePlay Initiative, <\/em>one of the most successful homeownership campaigns in the history of the Maryland Mortgage Program. Using funds that Prince George&#8217;s County received from the Attorney General\u2019s Mortgage Serving Settlement, DHCD worked closely with local government and the Prince George\u2019s County Association of Realtors to help stabilize county neighborhoods by building homeownership.<\/p>\n<p>More than 450 families reserved loans under the two programs, for a projected investment of more than $104 million.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Maryland Mortgage Program has been the state\u2019s flagship mortgage purchase program for more than 30 years.\u00a0 Program loans are administered by a network of more than 60 private lending institutions across the state, including about 30 lenders in Prince George\u2019s County.\u00a0 Benefits of the program include pre-purchase home buyer education and significant down payment assistance for eligible buyers.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on Maryland Mortgage Program offers, visit MMP.MARYLAND.GOV.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">###<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CROWNSVILLE, MD \u2013\u00a0DHCD announced today that the funds set aside under the Maryland Mortgage Program DoublePlay Initiative in Prince George\u2019s County have been utilized.
