Metro area and Southern Maryland.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0MMP\u00a0had never\u00a0purchased\u00a0a mortgage in each of the state&#8217;s 23 counties and Baltimore City\u2014 that is, until the state closed the books on Fiscal Year 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want every corner of Maryland to know that state government is working for them,\u201d Governor Larry Hogan said. \u201cFor the first time in the program\u2019s history, MMP\u00a0will now be well-established from Southern Maryland to the Eastern Shore, and all the way to Western Maryland.\u00a0A healthy housing market is key to a healthy economy.\u00a0By helping more families in more places purchase a home, we are changing Maryland for the better.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Offering loans at competitive rates, the Maryland Mortgage Program supplied 2,348 mortgages valued at more than $444 million in Fiscal Year 2015.
