Through this program,\u00a0HUD recognizes the vital role nonprofit organizations play in putting\u00a0community-building programs into place such as the <a href=\"http:\/\/portal.hud.gov\/hudportal\/HUD?src=\/program_offices\/comm_planning\/communitydevelopment\/programs\">Community Development Block Grant Program<\/a> (CDBG) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/portal.hud.gov\/hudportal\/HUD?src=\/program_offices\/comm_planning\/affordablehousing\/programs\/home\/\">HOME Investment Partnerships Program<\/a>, especially in rural areas.<\/p>\n<p>HUD anticipates awarding a total of $5 million to four winners, with each recipient receiving between $500,000 and $2,500,000.
